Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining patient and staff safety by monitoring patient and assisting delegated nursing care.
- Incorporates therapeutic and diversionary interventions to maintain patient safety, refocus the patient, and promote healthy behaviors as needed.
- Ambulates, assists with hygiene, nutrition, linen changes, and other activities of daily living for patients.
- Identifies potential risks and early signs of escalating patient behaviors, such as agitation, confusion, and anxiety.
- Engages the patient in reduction techniques to maintain safety and incorporates problem-solving and critical thinking skills to implement behavioral interventions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- 1 year of experience related to patient care or psychiatric training preferred or less than 1 year (six months) of nursing education preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently required.
- Innovative with patient care required.
- Flexible in thinking and approach required.
Pay
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
