Responsibilities
- Incorporates therapeutic and diversionary interventions to maintain patient safety, refocus the patient, and promote healthy behaviors.
- Ambulates, assists with hygiene, nutrition, linen changes, and other activities of daily living for patients.
- Identifies potential risks and early signs of escalating patient behaviors, such as agitation, confusion, and anxiety.
- Engages the patient in reduction techniques to maintain safety.
- Solves problems and applies critical thinking skills to implement behavioral interventions.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- One year of experience related to patient care or psychiatric training preferred, or less than one year (six months) of nursing education preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently required.
