Pay
- Associate (Clinician I) hourly rate: $42.07 (Step 1) to $46.45 (Step 6)
- Licensed (Clinician II) hourly rate: $54.30 (Step 1) to $59.96 (Step 6)
- Shift differentials:
- 6.25% for overnight (11 pm – 7 am)
- 4.75% for evening (5:30 pm – 10:59 pm)
- 4.75% for weekend (12:01 am Saturday – 11:59 pm Sunday)
Pay rates for Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Union staff advance one step per year up to Step 6 (15 years).
Schedule
Sunday – Thursday, 11:00 am – 7:30 pm.

Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership in comprehensive assessments, case conferences, treatment plans, and strategic interventions
- Serve as lead member of the treatment team; participate in crisis intervention, clinical supervision, and direct services
- Orient, consult, and coordinate within the work team to ensure service delivery meets client, family, and payor needs
- Provide clinical leadership, training, and guidance to staff, interns, and volunteers consistent with agency standards
- Consult and back up other staff in client crisis response
- Develop, review, evaluate, and sign clinical documentation requiring LPHA signature
- Provide individual and group treatment services, training, and support to clients and families
- Gather demographic and psychosocial information through client interviews
- Complete strengths assessments and needs analyses with clients and families
- Develop goal-oriented, time-limited comprehensive plans in cooperation with clients and representatives
- Facilitate and lead groups to develop life, coping, and independent living skills; develop curricula
- Assist clients in understanding problems and developing resolution plans
- Maintain regular communication with families and authorized third parties
- Coordinate needed services and make referrals to public/private agencies and resources
- Develop discharge and follow-up treatment recommendations for clients and families
- Complete comprehensive reassessments prior to expiration of current treatment plans
- Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical records and reports
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention, including follow-up and emergency coverage
- Assist Program Manager in maintaining compliance with CARF, contract, agency, and regulatory requirements
- Provide transportation of clients and/or program supplies in personal or agency vehicle
- Provide on-call coverage and participate in after-hours rotation as assigned
- Perform First Aid in emergency situations at residential facilities
- Attend and participate in staff, program, agency, and community meetings and training
- Meet continuing education requirements for regulatory, accreditation, and agency needs
- Participate in management of team/program discretionary resources
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a mental health profession and one year of experience in human services (preferably mental health or with targeted populations)
- Current California licensure as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD/PsyD)
- First Aid Certification or completion within 30 days of hire (required for residential assignments)
- Minimum 20 hours of directly related professional training (required for residential assignments)
- Typing speed of 30 net wpm (40 wpm desired); basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows-based databases; familiarity with UNIX-based databases desired
- Valid California Driver License, reliable vehicle, current auto liability insurance, and clean DMV record
- Ability to meet and receive criminal records clearance

- Work collaboratively with individuals with serious mental illness, including those with histories of hospitalization, institutionalization, substance abuse, low medication engagement, and difficulty in structured activities
- Exemplary customer service, compassion, and care in all duties and interactions
- Ability to work with high-risk and under-represented populations with multiple barriers
- Knowledge of clinical techniques for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of people with mental illness; problem and conflict resolution techniques
- Knowledge of community resources for non-mental health needs of the target population
- Knowledge of Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) desired
- Ability to supervise trainees and interns according to BBS/BOP requirements desired
Physical Requirements
- Constant (over 2/3 of workday): hearing/talking on telephone and in person; standing, walking, sitting; pinching and finger flexion
- Occasional (under 1/3 of workday): lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling

- Must be physically able to assist clients in evacuation of program facilities during emergencies
