Licensed Clinician – DeKalb Regional Crisis Center Claratel Behavioral Health (formerly DeKalb Community Service Board) is a leading, community-based provider of behavioral health and developmental disabilities services in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. We serve more than 11,000 uninsured and underinsured individuals annually through a full continuum of mental health, substance use, and developmental disabilities programs. About The DeKalb Regional Crisis Center The Crisis Center provides urgent intervention and stabilization services for adults experiencing behavioral health emergencies. It offers three levels of care: Crisis Services Center (CSC): Accepts walk-ins, emergency room transfers, and involuntary referrals for evaluationTemporary Observation Unit (TOU): Provides 12–24 hours of monitoring for individuals needing further assessmentCrisis Stabilization Unit (CSU): Offers 5–7 days of intensive care including counseling, medication management, and discharge planning Job Summary The Licensed Clinician plays a vital role in the delivery of crisis evaluation, stabilization, and withdrawal management services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, the clinician provides assessments, individual and group therapy, family counseling, discharge planning, and other evidence-based interventions. This role supports the overall mission of the Crisis Center through collaborative, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care. Duties And Responsibilities Assessment Conduct timely, comprehensive biopsychosocial assessmentsUse multiple sources to inform client-centered treatment planningApply standardized tools (e.g., Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale)Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and triage decision-makingSeek supervision when appropriate Therapeutic Counseling Establish therapeutic relationships with clients and familiesDeliver individual, family, and group counseling using evidence-based practicesProvide crisis intervention and document responses to treatmentModify interventions based on clinical feedbackMaintain proficiency in mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disordersEngage clients using trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches Case Management & Care Planning Develop and coordinate individualized treatment plansDocument goals, objectives, and interventions with clarity and specificityServe as a resource for internal and external providersAssist in problem-solving for complex casesEnsure timely communication and documentation of referrals, discharges, and service authorizationsFacilitate discharge planning, including safety and crisis plansConduct follow-up calls and complete monitoring notes per policyAct as liaison for community resource engagement Professional Development Maintain active licensure and certificationsParticipating in clinical supervision and continuing educationEngage in organizational training initiatives Qualifications Minimum Requirements Master’s degree in behavioral health and/or social services fieldFull licensure is required, LPC or LCSW. At least two years of relevant experienceProficiency in computer systems and multitasking Preferred Qualifications Independent licensure in Georgia (LCSW or LPC) Interpersonal Skills Effective communication with colleagues, clients, families, and external partnersAbility to work collaboratively across disciplines and populations Working Conditions Crisis setting with potential exposure to high-acuity situationsMay require evening, weekend, holiday, or on-call availability Key Attributes Resilience under pressureInitiative, flexibility, and professionalismStrong communication and multitasking skillsAbility to work within medical and recovery modelsCompetence in treating co-occurring disordersCultural humility and ability to serve diverse populations Pre-employment drug screening may be required.
