About the role
The Licensed Clinician at Odyssey House is responsible for assessing and coordinating care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This position requires a Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, New York State certification (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMHC-P), and two years of experience in the substance abuse field. Field supervision training for supervising interns is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure potential inductions are served professionally and appropriately.
- Review clinical, legal, and other pertinent documents to assess for program admission and care coordination.
- Provide screening/assessment, including crisis intervention for clients with suicidal or homicidal ideation, and referrals/care coordination for inductions with active mental health and/or co-occurring symptoms.
- Obtain medical and psychiatric clearances for the admissions decision process.
- Maintain appropriate case records, statistical reports, and prepare other required reports.
- Serve as a liaison/advocate with community agencies and organizations.
- Maintain OASAS regulatory compliance and ensure intake/assessment and referral processes comply with Odyssey House’s standards.
- Participate in clinical and administrative meetings and in-service trainings.
- Provide supervision of social work interns and participate in Odyssey House’s in-service trainings.
- Provide ongoing training for program staff.
- Assist with authorization and reauthorization as needed.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
- New York State Certification (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMHC-P).
- Two years of experience in the substance abuse field.
- Field supervision training for supervising interns (SIFI) preferred.
- Proficiency with computer operation (Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Health Record, and Outlook).
