About the role

Primary Health Solutions (PHS) is actively seeking a Clinical Trainer to join our team. The Clinical Trainer will work cross-departmentally to provide oversight and implementation of PHS' clinical training and development initiatives, building the clinical team’s expertise in patient care skills through demonstrations, continuing education courses, and other educational offerings. This role supports HR with clinical and EHR processes, competency assessments, recruitment, on-boarding, (re)training, and the Medical Assistant preceptor program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve on-boarding training for new clinical employees in group and/or one-on-one settings, both virtual and in-person.
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR to ensure a valuable on-boarding experience for staff.
  • Develop and enhance clinical training curriculum.
  • Assign and assess clinical competencies of new employees, ensuring they can work independently within 90 days of employment.
  • Conduct 30-60-90 day competency assessments for new clinical hires.
  • Work with the Training & Development Coordinator and NextGen EHR training resources to align clinical and EHR workflows for staff and patients.
  • Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures to align with best practices and standard workflows.
  • Coordinate and conduct annual or recurring training sessions.
  • Develop and implement clinical services and training strategies to address performance gaps.
  • Act as the PHS contact and provide oversight for the Medical Assistant Preceptor Program and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Placement Program.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to recommend clinical staff for continuing education and development opportunities to enhance skills and promote retention.
  • Work with leadership, IT, HR, Clinic Operations, and other stakeholders on projects, change management, training strategy, and project roll-outs.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant or higher clinical degree.
  • Three or more years of training experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Training certification strongly preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physicians, and clinical support staff.
