Clinical Trainer / MA (MA1239 - Kyle)

About the Role

Under the direction of the Clinical Training Manager / RN, the Clinical Trainer / MA develops, implements, and maintains training materials and programs based on identified clinical training needs, clinic operations, or changes in procedures or services. This role serves as the subject matter expert in VFC (Vaccines For Children) program requirements and performs MA duties as part of training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Mentors, trains, and provides guidance to clinical support staff in daily operations and ongoing training support.
• Conducts performance assessments and chart audits for new and existing clinical support personnel.
• Provides training for clinical support staff on immunizations and other injectable medications.
• Serves as subject matter expert in VFC immunizations ordering, storage, and reporting requirements.
• Analyzes clinical training needs and advises managers of training performance deficiencies, making improvements to training content, curriculum, and delivery as needed.
• Completes projects and assignments as directed by department manager and operations leadership to facilitate process improvement.
• Provides direct routine patient care, including clinical procedures within the MA scope of practice, as part of training.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Demonstrates a service-oriented mindset by providing excellent internal and external customer service.
• Ensures all actions, job performance, personal conduct, and communications represent the Center in a highly professional manner.
• Develops and maintains good interpersonal relationships and partnerships with all departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a Medical Assistant required.
• One (1) year training experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Primary Health Care required.
• Experience with EMR/EHR required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Ability to perform well under stress.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Knowledgeable of personal computers, including internet/intranet navigation.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association.
• Ability to work at various clinic sites, including patient care as part of training.
• Ability to travel from site to site within various counties using a personal vehicle.
• Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change.

Physical and Mental Activities

• Finger Dexterity: Using fingers to make small movements such as typing or picking up small objects. Normal fine and gross motor control of fingers and hands.
• Talking: Frequently conveying detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, clearly, or quickly.
• Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information; hear whispered voice at five (5) feet.
• Repetitive Motions: Frequently and regularly using the wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Visual: Visual acuity necessary for the proper evaluation of a patient and to prepare or inspect documents or other materials. Ability to accurately view computer monitors.
• Physical: Sitting 20-30% of time and standing, walking 70-80% of time. Lift up to 25 lbs; push and pull up to 45 lbs. Able to bend at the waist, twist, and turn along the axial plane.
