Clinical Therapist I/II - Riverside New Life Clinic

About the role

The Riverside University Health System – Behavioral Health, Riverside New Life Clinic is currently recruiting for a Clinical Therapist I/II position located in Riverside.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to adult clients ages 18–60 who have current or past involvement with the justice system.
  • Deliver a range of behavioral health services, including clinical assessments, individual therapy, group treatment services, team consultations, and clinical supervision.
  • Maintain a caseload of approximately 30–50 clients, depending on clinical needs and program factors.
  • Work directly with adults who may have complex psychosocial needs and varying degrees of justice involvement.
  • Coordinate with other staff members and community agencies in carrying out and designing treatment or rehabilitation plans.
  • Assist consumers and other concerned individuals in understanding the nature of major psychological illnesses and their psychosocial effects.
  • Assist consumers and their families in understanding and choosing options of mental health treatment.
  • Initiate and conduct individual, collateral, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Establish and maintain effective contact with local area mental health resources, including community members, parents, schools, residential facilities, and other agencies/organizations.
  • Perform specialized tasks including involuntary hospitalization procedures (5150) and Tarasoff assessments.
  • Participate in mental health conferences and local area committees.
• Interview consumers, relatives, and other involved persons to gather personal and social data relevant to assessing mental or emotional disorders.
• Evaluate psychological, economic, vocational, educational, physical, health, socialization, and housing needs.
• Coordinate with other staff members (psychiatrists, psychologists, and other program staff) and community agencies in carrying out and designing treatment or rehabilitation plans.
• Aid consumers and other concerned individuals in understanding the nature of major psychological illnesses and their psychosocial effects.
• Assist consumers and their families in understanding and choosing options of mental health treatment.
• Initiate and conduct individual, collateral, group, and family therapy sessions.
• Establish and maintain effective contact with local area mental health resources, including community members, parents, schools, residential facilities, and other agencies/organizations.

Requirements

• Must be currently registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as: Associate Clinical Social Worker, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
• Experience working alongside justice-involved populations, familiarity with probation/parole systems, or prior involvement supporting collaborative court programs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related behavioral science field.
• Certificate: Clinical Therapist I must have possession of a valid certificate of registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• Clinical Therapist II must have possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Benefits

Annual Salary Range:

• Clinical Therapist I: $66,386 - $95,851
• Clinical Therapist II: $76,470 - $108,870
