Responsibilities
- Coordinates and assists manager/supervisor with daily operations of specialty team.
- Contributes to the maintenance of high quality, cost effective patient care by communicating with scheduling, physicians and team members regarding upcoming procedures.
- Provides clinical leadership by directing, coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner, allowing for flexibility and growth of team members.
- Acts as an interdepartmental liaison promoting effective team work.
- Evaluates and coaches team members relative to job performance to achieve a high level of productivity and quality care.
- Provides input regarding team members performance to supervisors/managers.
- Acts as a liaison between physicians and sales representatives to ensure hospital and department policy is followed.
- Actively participates in value analysis.
- Acts as a mentor and resource to educate team members and physicians on the concepts and philosophies of value purchasing.
- Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making the necessary referrals to provide continuity of care.
- Develops an individual plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
- Experience: Three years of operating room experience.
