Role Overview

The Clinical Team Lead supports the delivery of clinical services by assisting mental health and substance use disorder treatment teams, contributing to effective coordination and quality care under the guidance of more senior clinical leaders. They will also provide case consultation to clinicians and/or treatment team members, both in individual and group settings. May work alongside the leadership team within a program/site to prepare the clinical team for emerging treatments and/or service array changes. Responsible for performing direct client care for clients needing mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment.

Essential Duties

  • Provide guidance, training, technical assistance, and coaching to assigned clinical staff to ensure and maintain clinical skills.
  • Act as a role model providing support and removing barriers.
  • Aid in providing on-site leadership, which may include crisis intervention, attending to needs of staff within the building, problem solving between treatment team members, and helping clients who need assistance.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to clinical staff members, adhere to regulatory supervision requirements and documentation standards, and ensure the highest competence for clinical staff and effective treatment intervention.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professional staff within SummitStone and the community.
  • Provide a wide variety of individual, family, and group therapeutic and rehabilitative activities to achieve goals of services/treatment plan; prevent deterioration, and hospitalization.
  • Perform direct client care including initial screenings, intake assessments, on-going assessments and treatment, crisis intervention, care collaboration, and case management to clients.
  • Conduct crisis intervention via telephone, video, or face-to-face. Intervene and de-escalate crisis situations with clients. Assess the risk of harm to self or others and arrange needed resources. Observe clients in a variety of situations; assess mental status; formulate treatment plans and goals; perform case management services as needed to assist client to meet their goals as stated in their service/treatment plans; refer clients to supportive services such as vocational, medical social security, housing authority, etc.
  • Assist clients in improving their well-being and quality of life by training in behavioral skills; educate clients to make informed choices; develop client coping skills; help consumers to problem solve and negotiate tasks of daily living.
  • Develop and monitor service plans, treatment progress, and maintain timely clinical documentation and other reporting data. Document treatment plans, progress reports, group notes, individual notes, case management notes, letters, faxes, and phone calls following proper protocol for documentation.
  • Maintain close and cooperative relationships with community agencies and other public agencies in carrying out treatment plans. Advocate for clients in educational, legal, and other systems.
  • Follow agency client-service standards as outlined by SummitStone Health Partners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field
  • Current professional license in appropriate discipline required – LCSW, LPC, or LMFT, with a minimum of two years of active licensure
  • More than three years of experience in directly relevant experience in the behavioral health and substance use field
  • Licenses And Certifications: Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record may be required
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required at some locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • LAC
  • Experience in a leadership role
