Clinical Team Lead - Mental Health Unit - Part time - Days

About the role

The Clinical Team Leader (CTL) identifies procedures, processes, and patient care to be accomplished during the work period, as well as the resources required to carry out the work of the unit safely in collaboration with unit and organizational leadership teams. The CTL distributes work to optimize available resources—both personnel and material—while considering the knowledge, skills, and abilities of team members integral to the patient care process.

The CTL provides ongoing coordination of work and resources to meet changing requirements, including working with clinical logistics and crisis services to coordinate patient flow. Dedicated to safety, the CTL may serve as a de-escalation trainer, promotes the use of Hospital Acquired Condition Prevention tools, and maintains situational awareness of patient status and overall milieu acuity.

On an ongoing basis, the CTL evaluates individual and collective outcomes of patient care, compares delivery to accepted standards, adjusts resource assignments, and reports changing needs. The CTL may contribute observations to employee evaluations, suggest proficiency evaluations, or advise and educate staff, though these functions are not supervisory in nature. Accountable for the overall operation of an assigned unit during a specific time period but is not solely responsible for employment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Identify procedures, processes, and patient care needs for the work period.
• Determine and allocate resources (personnel and material) to ensure safe and efficient unit operations.
• Coordinate work and resources dynamically to adapt to changing requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical logistics and crisis services to optimize patient flow.
• Promote safety, including serving as a de-escalation trainer and utilizing Hospital Acquired Condition Prevention tools.
• Maintain situational awareness of patient status and milieu acuity.
• Evaluate patient care outcomes and adjust resource assignments as needed.
• Contribute to employee evaluations, proficiency assessments, and staff education.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (required).
• Commitment to obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing within five years of hire.
• Registered Nursing license in the State of Ohio (required).
• CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience.

Schedule

• Part-time, 24 hours per week.
• Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM.
• 2 (12) hour shifts per week.
• Weekend and holiday rotations serving the Mental Health Unit at the Mathile Center.
