Clinical Systems Analyst, Sr
Location: Medical Office Building-Fort Worth (750 8th Ave) | First Shift | 40 hours per week
About the role
This position is an independent contributing information technology professional responsible for planning, developing, testing, installing, maintaining, and optimizing application(s) and related information technologies. Responsibilities include establishing and promoting standard architectures, hardware, and software components, as well as developing expertise in clinical and business application areas. You will investigate processes to understand data and communications flow within Cook Children’s Integrated Delivery System, advocate for user needs, and coordinate support requests within the Information Services (IS) department. Acts as a liaison among IS, clinical end users, patient care departments, vendors, and technical experts to ensure clinically and technically sound solutions for customer technology needs. Recommends process changes to improve workflows and system advantages.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the effectiveness of applications and related information technologies in meeting end-user requirements.
- Modify applications as needed to meet user requirements.
- Define and develop reports, prepare statistical summaries, and analyze data.
- Participate in application upgrades and resolve problems/issues associated with installed applications.
- Diagnose failures in application software and related technologies, analyze issues, and identify trends.
- Perform quality control of all application implementations/enhancements prior to release.
- Maintain awareness of vendor and industry developments in assigned areas.
- Communicate and document all relevant activities and items.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Clinical Information Systems, Informatics, Information Technology, or Sciences is required.
- At least 5 years of healthcare industry experience, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- At least 5 years of experience with clinical software and/or hardware technology or databases, including designing, configuring, training, or implementing clinical systems applications.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the stated requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Philips Patient Monitoring from a clinical engineering perspective.
- IT knowledge overseeing integration with EHR applications.
- Full understanding of the complex Philips Patient Monitoring platform.
