About the Role

As a Clinical Support Coordinator at HCA Florida JFK Hospital, you will serve as a trusted clinical mentor for new graduate nurses and nurses transitioning into new specialties. Your role will focus on rounding on units, providing real-time coaching, and reinforcing safe, high-quality nursing practices to strengthen confidence, improve clinical skills, and enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Round on nursing units to observe care, provide in-the-moment coaching, and reinforce safe, quality nursing practice.
  • Guide new and transitioning nurses through skill development, clinical judgment, care planning, and escalation processes.
  • Provide hands-on support during rapid responses and codes, including feedback and clinical debriefs to reinforce learning.
  • Teach, demonstrate, and troubleshoot essential nursing skills while identifying shared learning needs to strengthen training.
  • Reinforce safety standards, regulatory expectations, and communication best practices (AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care).
  • Partner with unit leaders to support nurse growth, improve practice, and foster accountability, safety, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).

Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Preceptor certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
