About the role
MedVet is a fast-growing Emergency and Specialty provider with practices nationwide. We help our patients receive advanced medical treatments and innovations. Things like chemotherapy and radiation, cardiac ablations, treatments for glaucoma, physical rehabilitation, dermatology and so much more! We are looking for collaborative and driven people to join our clinical team.
The proposed work schedule for this role is Friday & Saturday from 12pm-12am and Sundays 7pm-7am.
Responsibilities
As a Nursing and Emergency Veterinary Clinical Supervisor, you will:
- Escalate issues to Clinical Manager
- Function as a scheduled Clinical Services team member within department(s)
- Collaborate with other departments regarding patient and client needs
- Prioritize and organize workflows for shift
- Directly manage Clinical Services team members while on shift, including managing early call-ins, early departures, call-offs, sharing of resources, breaks, and lunches for team members
- Assign team member responsibilities per shift
- Address process or employee issues during their shift
- Communicate schedule changes, performance concerns, and shift issues to the Clinical Manager routinely
- Serve as first level responder to client concerns and drug escalations
- Train and mentor new team members
- Provide input to Clinical Manager on team member performance evaluations
- Participate in on-call responsibilities
- Participate in management or administrative meeting(s) routinely
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong communication skills
- Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired
- Proficiency in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written skills
