The Section of Speech-Language Pathology at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (40 hours per week) to join its acute care hospital team. This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing state-of-the-art clinical care.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients.
• Interpret and reports on test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.
• Provide counseling and education about communication and diagnosis to patients and their families.
• Determine therapeutic plan, including need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy.
• Select assistive speech devices to improve patient communication.
• Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy.
• Provide observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine the need for other services.
• Maintain records of all services.
• Communicate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such schools and employers.
• Maintain speech pathology equipment and materials.
• Assist with planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting, purchase of new equipment or materials.

Requirements

• Must hold ASHA's CCC-SLP credential.
