Clinical Social Work Supervisor
About the Role
The Clinical Social Work Supervisor provides supervision to a team of clinical support staff. This position is responsible for coaching, mentoring, modeling best practices, scheduling, managing Paid Time Off (PTO), and day-to-day performance for direct reports. The supervisor oversees patient care and ensures appropriate care is provided by clinical social work team members across the following populations:
- Neonate - <30 days
- Infancy - >30 days to 1yr
- Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs
- Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs
- School age - >5yrs to 13yrs
- Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs
- Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs
Responsibilities
- Mentors and supports staff daily to foster high employee engagement.
- Assists with selecting, training, developing, and evaluating social work team members.
- Collaborates on hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, and promotions as required.
- Identifies resource needs and develops recommendations for meeting them.
- Provides clinical supervision per best practices and licensure requirements.
- Supervises daily department operations, including scheduling, workload distribution, crisis management, payroll, and resource allocation.
- Acts as a working supervisor, assisting with patient and family interactions and facilitating care plans; remains available for coverage as needed.
- Implements and maintains department-specific policies, procedures, and guidelines while ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices and organizational standards.
- Resolves operational and patient/family issues, making inclusive decisions to address underlying problems.
- Supports team members in achieving unit outcomes, performance standards, and professional development; identifies opportunities for continual improvement.
- Provides clinical backup on a rotating basis with other CSW leadership positions.
This role involves unstructured work assignments, requiring judgment, analytical ability, and problem-solving to supervise multiple functions, programs, or projects. The supervisor coordinates and directs the work of two or more employees and handles non-prescribed communications involving negotiation and resolution of complex issues.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work.
- Five (5) years of experience providing psycho-social assessment and interventions to patients and families, including three (3) years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado (CO).
Schedule
- 40 hours per week, full-time.
- Monday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Tuesday: 11:30 AM – 9:30 PM
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Thursday: 11:30 AM – 9:30 PM
- Ability to flex days/hours to meet the needs of after-hours team members.
- Leader on-call for one week approximately twice per quarter.
Pay
Annual salary range (based on 40 hours worked per week): $90,900.58 to $136,350.88, dependent on relevant experience.
