Clinical Service Representative I - Ophthalmology

Location: St. Louis, MO 63108 • Scheduled Hours: 40

About the role

Provides clinical office support including answering telephone calls, entering demographic and insurance/referral information, and scheduling appointments.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone calls and handles patient questions or routes to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules, reschedules, cancels and confirms patient appointments.
• Registers new patients in the system and obtains demographic and insurance information.
• Assists with obtaining referrals/pre-certifications as needed.
• Provides packets of information to patients associated with services which may accompany the appointment.
• Assists other clinical support staff during peak time, vacation/illnesses.

Working Conditions

• Normal office environment.
• Typically sitting at a desk or table.
• Uses standard office equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date (Online BLS certifications without a skills assessment component are not sufficient).
• One year of experience in a medical office setting and/or related customer service (preferred).

Pay

Salary range: $16.75 - $22.70 per hour. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade, and department budget.
