Clinical RN - Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit

About the role

Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Multidisciplinary ICU Registered Nurse. This is a brand new department focusing on cardiac, medicine, surgical, and neuro patients. Part-time positions are available with benefits eligibility for up to two 12-hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and their families on managing illnesses or injuries, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage in professional development activities.
• Create, implement, and document individualized patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patients, families, or caregivers.
• Proactively plan and ensure effective communication of the care plan across the healthcare continuum.
• Utilize critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to established standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Requirements

• One to two years of critical care experience preferred.
• Acceptable ADN/BSN/MSN candidates.
• One to two years of critical care experience preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Qualifications

• BSN differential for eligible candidates.

Skills

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
