Clinical Resident Nurse - Cardiac Medical/Surgical

About the role

Provides direct and indirect patient care in various care settings, collaborating with physicians, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Utilizes critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care to preserve patient dignity, autonomy, and rights, while restoring health whenever possible. Performs general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritizes tasks, with flexibility to take on additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients accurately based on their medical condition.
• Administer medications as prescribed, understanding ordered treatments.
• Provide age-appropriate care, including basic self-care activities.
• Develop and evaluate patient and family teaching plans.
• Utilize nursing knowledge to perform treatments and services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform technical/manual skills.
• Address psychosocial needs and coordinate with social services for discharge planning.
• Practice cost-effective resource management and ensure patient safety.
• Prioritize patient needs efficiently and promote a safe care environment.
• Commit to lifelong learning and professional development.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Computer literacy required; additional certifications such as ACLS/PALS preferred.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; other certifications encouraged.
