About the Role

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for independently managing and coordinating clinical research studies within the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center and the UCSF Dyslexia Center. This role supports multiple concurrent studies, including the Multitudes platform in California public schools, and serves as a key liaison between investigators, research staff, participants, and institutional review bodies.

The CRC oversees study operations from initiation through close-out, ensuring regulatory compliance, data integrity, and successful execution of research protocols. The incumbent will play a crucial role in informing the design and validation of the Multitudes platform, a free digital tool aimed at empowering educators to identify learning strengths and challenges, support literacy, and tailor teaching to students' needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee study operations, data collection, and specimen management for single or multiple clinical research studies.
• Manage and report study results, including creating, cleaning, updating, and maintaining databases and comprehensive datasets.
• Act as an intermediary between services and departments to ensure all institutional approvals are obtained prior to study initiation.
• Manage investigator protocols within the Committee on Human Research (CHR) online system, including renewals, modifications, and new study submissions.
• Participate in protocol development and review to ensure Institutional Review Board (IRR) approval and compliance with University and regulatory agency requirements.
• Maintain regulatory documentation and oversee study data integrity.
• Implement and maintain periodic quality control procedures.
• Report study progress to investigators and coordinate staff work schedules.
• Assist in training Assistant CRCs and support oversight of research staff.
• Participate in internal and external audits or reviews of study protocols.
• Perform entry-level duties related to the support and coordination of clinical studies for the UC Multitudes Project.
• Support the implementation of the Multitudes platform in California public schools, specifically in Kindergarten and first-grade classrooms.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduation and sufficient experience with demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Mandarin and/or Cantonese verbal and written skills (both preferred but not required).
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communications and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Project management and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co-workers, and physicians.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency with RedCAP, Qualtrics, or other research software.
• Experience working with study subjects or other people ages 5 through 18.
• Experience working with data collection forms and databases.
