Responsibilities
- Support program-level quality initiatives by assisting with the analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical improvement efforts aligned with PHS priorities.
- Use quality tools and methodologies to drive performance improvement, support data-driven decision-making, and collaborate with clinical, operational, and physician leaders to enhance patient outcomes and care processes.
- Facilitate quality initiatives, cross-functional teams, and committee work to ensure project goals, timelines, and outcomes are achieved.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical leaders, and program teams to review quality data, identify opportunities, and implement improvement strategies.
- Conduct event reviews and root cause analyses; assist in developing action plans and defining measures of success.
- Develop and standardize processes based on best practices; ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and dissemination to leadership.
- Utilize registries and external data sources (AHA, CMS, NSQIP, etc.) to support quality measurement and improvement.
- Educate staff and providers on performance improvement methods, patient safety, and quality standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in quality theory, tools, and methodologies, supporting system-wide compliance and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health or science-related field.
- One year quality improvement experience in a healthcare environment.
- Three years experience in nursing or health or science-related field.
- Must complete Presbyterian quality training or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process improvement certification/experience within three years of employment.
- Project management, data analysis, team leading and facilitation skills required.
- Microsoft Office skills are essential.
- Additional computer skills in database, statistical process control applications, decision support systems, comparative and benchmarking skills, process mapping (Visio), and project management (Microsoft Project Manager) preferred.
