About the role
The Oregon State Penitentiary – Salem, Orgon, Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist 1 to provide on-site care within their secure correctional facility medical units.
Responsibilities
Administers, scores, interprets and presents findings of standardized psychological assessments to evaluate adults in custody in various DOC facilities.
Documents psychological assessments in accordance with Health Services and Behavioral Health Services practices.
Integrates test results, behavioral observations, and historical data to formulate a diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
Performs risk assessments as requested and necessary.
Completes evaluations within specified deadlines.
Mets with adults in custody to implement treatment plans consistent with the recommendations of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Conducts individual and group therapy.
Attends clinical management meetings to consult on clinical and service delivery issues.
Documents all consultation or direct services provided in the medical record per Health Services Policy and Procedures.
Attends and participates in in-services training.
Provides training to program staff on topics specific to identified clinical topics.
Requirements
A doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited university, completion of a one-year internship in Clinical Psychology, and completion of necessary supervised hours post-graduation.
You must be licensed as a Psychologist in the state of Oregon or meet all requirements for immediate licensure.
A position may be offered contingent on you obtaining your Oregon license.
Skills
Administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized tests of intelligence, achievement, aptitude, personality behaviors, and neuropsychological screening.
Preparing written reports which contain formal diagnoses and recommendations for treatment.
Performing group and individual therapy.
Maintaining client records.
Thorough and timely written and verbal communication.
Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team in developing treatment and behavior modification plans for clients.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with members of an interdisciplinary treatment team and other agency staff.
Provide training in assessment, psychotherapy, and treatment planning techniques.
