About the role

The Clinical Program Manager oversees clinical operations within the program, ensuring compliance with mandated clinical orientation, competency assessment, and interventions. This role interfaces with various departments and leadership to manage educational and operational impacts, staff performance, and outcome measures.

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical operations using data and fact-based problem-solving techniques to improve processes and outcomes.
• Ensures clinical initiatives align with institutional and departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff.
• Communicates values, strategies, and objectives regularly to department or division members.
• Sets, monitors, and appraises job performance.
• Develops, maintains, and reconciles departmental budgets with financial responsibility.
• Plans, develops, and maintains departmental standard operating procedures.
• Coordinates and leads educational and performance improvement activities within a designated clinical specialty.
• Collects, compiles, and analyzes clinical program activity data to evaluate clinical performance and competence.
• Provides technical assistance, resource services, consultation, and education to clinical specialty services.
• Serves as a clinical role model and resource to the nursing staff.
• Prepares reports and analyses associated with orientation, ongoing competency, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborates with other members of the health care team to develop, implement, and review policies, procedures, and standards of care for designated patient populations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital, departmental, and care center standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, and assures readiness for Joint Commission and other agency surveys.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
• Participates in the performance appraisal process of designated Nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
• Masters in Nursing or health-related field is preferred.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.
• 5 years directly related experience (some supervisory experience preferred).
• New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.
