Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competencies that incorporate age-specific guidelines.
- Maintains understanding of clinical pathophysiology.
- Affords assistance with clinical care.
- Attends educational opportunities of at least 18 hours per year.
- Fosters professional development of others.
- Establishes sound Shared Leadership council structure.
- Develops and maintains relationships with leadership in other departments.
- Engages departmental leaders to achieve unit goals and projects.
- Focuses on key retention activities.
- Coaches staff to improve performance.
- Understands My PATH program and educates Assistant Nurse Managers and staff.
- Provides oversight for development of quality measures and quality controls.
- Ledges unit in creation of staffing effectiveness monitors.
- Oversees follow-up to occurrence notification system reports.
- Participates in departmental assessment of national recognition data collection processes.
- Allocates resources to work toward care standardization and performance improvement in accordance with evidence-based practice.
Requirements
Experience: 2 years of experience in management/administration. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced education in business, management, or related field; Professional nurse certification; Experience in management in a healthcare setting; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS).
Qualifications
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
- Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire.
