About the role

The Clinical Nurse Manager, Emergency Department position at Endeavor Health leads and oversees the operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. This role also involves recruiting, hiring, coaching, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating staff, as well as leading quality improvement initiatives and providing support for related clinical units.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Emergency Department operations, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and clinical functions.
  • Manage daily department operations and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Recruit, hire, coach, evaluate, discipline, and, when necessary, terminate staff.
  • Oversee staff onboarding, education, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, care quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership support for related clinical units in the absence of another Clinical Manager.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required, MSN preferred.
  • Current Illinois Registered Nursing license.
  • Certification: Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Specialty certification: ECRN and TNS preferred, or commitment to obtain within two years of hire. CEN preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years management experience.

Qualifications
