About the role

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Office Assistant for our Echo/Vascular department located within the Edgewood hospital. This role provides administrative, registration, scheduling, and customer service support to ensure efficient daily operations within a healthcare office setting. The position serves as a key point of contact for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff, delivering professional and courteous service in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.

Responsibilities

  • Patient registration and appointment scheduling
  • Insurance verification and obtaining authorizations
  • Collecting patient payments
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Managing multiple phone lines
  • Supporting front office operations
  • Assisting with medical records management and data entry
  • Problem resolution and general clerical duties
  • Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • 1 year of experience in an office front desk role, healthcare registration, scheduling, or other patient-facing healthcare positions

Skills

  • Medical terminology
  • Computer fluency/literacy
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Organization and prioritization skills
