Clinical Nurse - Surgical PCU

About the role

Join a specialized surgical progressive care unit as a Clinical Nurse and deliver high-acuity patient care in a 19-bed setting. The unit cares for complex surgical patients including transplant, hepatobiliary, ENT, plastic, orthopedic, trauma, and vascular cases. The leadership team includes experienced clinical managers committed to staff support and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.
• Promoting patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, medication administration, and post-discharge needs.
• Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, along with ongoing professional development.
• Developing and communicating individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values and barriers to involvement.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Current RN licensure.
• No prior experience necessary, though two years of experience is preferred.
• Safety-sensitive role emphasizing alertness and safe work practices.
