Clinical Nurse (RN) - General Medical and Transitional Care Unit (R7)

About the role

This is a Clinical Nurse II vacancy open to RNs with at least one year of RN work experience. We are currently seeking Registered Nurses to join our newly created 40-bed medical surgical unit with a focus on patients requiring a longer length of stay.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, identifies outcomes, plans, implements, documents, and evaluates the effects of nursing care.
• Care delivery and coordination of patient and family care begins with the initial contact with the health care system and may continue across the continuum.
• Provides care on an inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and/or community basis.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine.
• At least 1 year prior RN work experience.
• Basic knowledge of the research base, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in patients' conditions and to initiate appropriate action.
• Demonstrates a caring nursing practice and promotes a healing environment for patients and families.
• Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year.
• Certification in relevant specialty preferred.

• Excellent communication abilities.
• Exceptional communication abilities, always effectively interacting and problem-solving with other healthcare professionals, hospital administration, patients and families.
