About the role
St. Louis Children’s Hospital is located at One Children's Place, St. Louis, MO 63110. Benefits are eligible for full-time positions with 36 hours per week, rotating day and night shifts every 3rd weekend, and holiday rotation. Responsibilities
- Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
- Educates patients and their families on managing illnesses or injuries, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Engages in professional development activities.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual patient care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient, family, or caregiver.
- Proactively plans and communicates the patient care plan across the healthcare continuum.
- Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
- Affirms patient preferences and addresses barriers to care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
Requirements
This is a safety-sensitive position. Essential functions include maintaining a state of alertness and performing tasks safely.
Qualifications
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree preferred.
- No prior experience required.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Skills
Knowledge of nursing standards, critical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork are essential.
