About the Role
Provides direct patient care in a specialized unit, focusing on post-operative cardiovascular and thoracic surgical patients. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Utilizes critical nursing skills for comprehensive assessments, addressing physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs. Ensures communication across the continuum of care and maintains safety standards in a safety-sensitive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within nursing standards.
- Educate patients and families on post-treatment care, medication, and health management.
- Participate in activities promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and document personalized care plans with clear goals in collaboration with the team, patients, and families.
- Maintain proactive communication regarding care plans across care settings.
- Work safely, maintaining alertness and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications: Active RN license.
- Experience: No experience required; less than 2 years preferred.
