Clinical Nurse Manager - RN - Postpartum - Full-time - Evenings

About the role

As the Clinical Nurse Manager for the Postpartum unit, you will assume first-line leadership responsibility and accountability for managing the delivery of patient care on the unit.

You will facilitate efficient and cost-effective daily operations, including patient throughput (admissions, discharges, and transfers), and promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies, and procedures. In collaboration with the Patient Care Director, you will participate in establishing the unit’s short- and long-term goals and ensure alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals. You will also monitor staff compliance with regulatory, hospital, and divisional requirements.

This is a full-time evening shift position (2 PM–midnight) working 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week. Working off-shift hours and providing weekend coverage are routinely required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of patient care on the assigned Postpartum unit.
• Facilitate efficient and cost-effective daily operations, including patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring adherence to established standards, protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Patient Care Director to establish and align unit goals with hospital strategic objectives.
• Monitor staff compliance with regulatory, hospital, and divisional requirements.
• Provide leadership during off-shift hours and weekend coverage as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Current New York State RN license.
• 2+ years of acute care RN experience in Postpartum.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Previous leadership experience or charge nurse experience.

Pay

Salary Range: $145,000–$168,000/Annual.

Schedule

• Full-time evening shift (2 PM–midnight).
• 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week.
• Weekend coverage routinely required.

All roles require on-site presence, and employees should live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
