About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated nurse leader who is clinically strong, operationally savvy, and passionate about building an engaged, high-performing team. This leadership role provides the opportunity to influence day-to-day operations while shaping long-term culture, quality outcomes, and staff development. The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall management of assigned units and services, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of patient care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards.

The Nurse Manager models effective communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and interdisciplinary partners. This position reports to the Director of Nursing or above.
About This Unit
The Troy Emergency Center is a fast-paced, high-acuity Level 2 trauma center, seeing over 100,000 patients annually—the 3rd busiest in the state.
Responsibilities
- Maintain 24-hour accountability for leadership and management of a designated patient care unit.
- Promote high-quality nursing care and cost-effective resource utilization.
- Oversee staff professional development and a Patient- and Family-Centered Care culture.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards.
- Leverage data, technology, and evidence-based practices to drive decision-making and mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, and interdisciplinary partners.
- Support recruitment, retention, and staff engagement.
- Align role-specific responsibilities with the organization’s Professional Practice Model.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Emergency, ICU, or Critical Care.
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- One year of formal nursing leadership experience (external candidates).
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Two years of demonstrated informal leadership experience for internal candidates (e.g., Charge Nurse, Lead Nurse, or participation in Shared Governance Councils).

Schedule
- Full-time, day shift (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
- 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
- On-call weekends required.
