About the Role

Practices as a registered professional nurse with advanced knowledge in the area of practice, including the roles of clinical expert, educator, consultant, researcher, and leader. The Clinical Nurse Facilitator models professional nursing practice by collecting and maintaining accurate patient information to ensure the integrity of the program registry, assessing this information, and interacting with interdisciplinary teams and program team members to meet the quality initiatives of the program. In collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager and Medical Director, facilitates all aspects of the Trauma service. Complies with all regulatory agency guidelines as well as Kaleida policies and standards of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain accurate patient information to ensure the integrity of the program registry.
  • Assess patient information and interact with interdisciplinary teams to meet quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Trauma Program Manager and Medical Director to facilitate all aspects of the Trauma service.
  • Comply with regulatory agency guidelines and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS) or Specialty Area Certification upon hire/transfer or within 3 years required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within 1 year required.
  • ATS Trauma Reg Course within 1 year required.
  • Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) certification within 30 months required.
  • NYS Driver’s license or ability to utilize a mode of transportation to meet travel needs (within and out-of-state).
  • For 10517CHOB Trauma Center: Regulatory requirement to complete Trauma Outcomes Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) within one year of position.
  • 2 years of experience in a specialty area (Critical Care) required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 7 and ability to utilize windows-based applications.
  • Previous working knowledge of ICD coding and Injury Severity Scores (ISS) preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Weight requirement: Light (up to 20 lbs).

Pay

Salary Range: $46.44 - $59.42 per hour. Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.

For Registered Nurse clinical positions, internal applicants must have been employed in the same job title as the per diem position for which they are applying or in a comparable area of practice. Internal applicants must have a minimum of nine (9) continuous months of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. External applicants must have a minimum of one (1) continuous year of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. Only applicants who already have the competencies to fill the position and who can fill the position without training will be considered.
