Clinical Nurse Educator Operating Room Part Time Days
About the role
Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates orientation for individuals new to the nursing unit/department using the ANPD standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation with the NPD Practice model using inputs, throughputs, and outcomes to ensure a systematic approach to onboarding orientation.
Adjusts implementation strategies as needed based on the learner’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language, and cultural preferences.
Engages learners in planned educational activities through use of effective facilitation skills.
Responsibilities
Develops, incorporates, and implements evidence-based plans in collaboration with content experts, representatives of target audiences, and other stakeholders to support interprofessional/team coordination of care across the continuum.
Aids in identifying learning needs, strengths, and opportunities for students and practicing nurses and develops learning activities to grow skill sets based on learning needs.
Evaluates the effectiveness of educational activities.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of word processing, data management, email, and presentation applications.
- Effective professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the American Nurses Association (ANA)/Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) scope and standards for Nursing Professional Development.
- Self-directed, creative, and demonstrates initiative to fulfill the seven roles of the NPD practitioner: learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for the NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions.
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, OSHA) for professional specialty served.
