About the role
The Clinical Nurse Educator (RN) plays a vital role in supporting nursing staff through orientation, competency programs, continuing education, and professional development initiatives. They design, implement, and evaluate educational curricula that promote evidence-based practice, patient safety, and align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage onboarding and orientation for nursing staff
- Maintain competency records and ensure compliance
- Serve as a mentor and role model for nursing professionals
- Collaborate with academic partners and interdisciplinary teams
- Develop engaging learning experiences using diverse instructional methods (e.g., simulations, workshops, e-learning)
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Support performance enhancement and clinical skill development
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and adjust as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in clinical nursing practice
- Experience in nursing education or staff development
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty nursing certification (e.g., CCRN, CNOR, etc.)
- Prior teaching or precepting experience
