About the role

Serves to support orientation, competency programs, in-service education, continuing education, academic partnerships, career development and role transition at the Unit level for Mercy coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Serves to support orientation, competency programs, in-service education, continuing education, academic partnerships, career development and role transition at the Unit level for Mercy coworkers.
  • Nursing experience in the emergency department is vital for this role.
  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge related to evidence-based practice with the credibility to positively influence the delivery of patient care.
  • Proven ability to organize and multitask to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of equipment/technology used in delivery of patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a university, college, or school of nursing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. (Or RN enrolled in BSN program within 6 months of hire.)
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required.
  • 2 years teaching experience preferred.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment is an advantage.
  • Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed.
  • Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
  • Other unit specific certifications/additional life support certifications as required by specialty (ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, TNCC and/or ENPC).
  • Certified or progress toward professional nursing certification in a specialty related to responsibilities (CEN, CFRN, CTRN) preferred.
