The Role

The Clinical Educator coordinates and conducts education for nursing staff, enhancing quality and safe patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures nursing staff are educated to assess and identify patient care needs for assigned patients.
  • Provides education based on unit/patient needs, including service line academies, skill-based competency, equipment use expertise, and clinical assessment competency.
  • Collaborates with various departments to provide learning sessions that improve staff knowledge and competency in managing complex patient and family-centered care.
  • Supports areas such as House Operations, Piedmont Joint Camp, Observation Unit, and Supplemental Staffing.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in applicable state.
  • BLS required.
  • 3 years’ clinical experience in area of interest required.
  • National certification in specialty preferred, encouraged to obtain within one year of hire.

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Ability to tailor teaching to different learning styles.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
