The Role
The Clinical Educator coordinates and conducts education for nursing staff, enhancing quality and safe patient care.
Responsibilities
- Ensures nursing staff are educated to assess and identify patient care needs for assigned patients.
- Provides education based on unit/patient needs, including service line academies, skill-based competency, equipment use expertise, and clinical assessment competency.
- Collaborates with various departments to provide learning sessions that improve staff knowledge and competency in managing complex patient and family-centered care.
- Supports areas such as House Operations, Piedmont Joint Camp, Observation Unit, and Supplemental Staffing.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in applicable state.
- BLS required.
- 3 years’ clinical experience in area of interest required.
- National certification in specialty preferred, encouraged to obtain within one year of hire.

- Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
