About the role
The Clinical Nurse Educator at the UCI Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is responsible for overseeing an assigned clinical group and various educational activities for nursing students.
Responsibilities
- Oversee grading, assignments, and utilization of grading rubrics provided by the Faculty of Record (FOR)
- Coordinate clinical components of the assigned clinical group
- Remediate students as needed, including planning, implementing, and follow-up
- Participate in orientation/bootcamp/lab sessions for students, in conjunction with the Faculty of Record and other Clinical Instructors
- Participate in clinical faculty orientation, covering course, assignments, expectations, agency, and evaluation methods
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of delivering clinical nursing education and training material
- Strong interpersonal skills for education, training, and resource provision
- Detail-oriented organizational skills for managing time and prioritizing tasks
- Effective written and verbal communication for collaboration and conveying clinical information
- Knowledge of professional nursing practices and issues
- Experience in one or more of the following clinical areas within the last five years: Medical-Surgical, Geriatric, Obstetric, Pediatric, Psychiatric/Mental Health
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing practice
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Certificate within area of specialty preferred
