Clinical Nurse - Ambulatory Procedure Center

About the role

St. Louis Children's Hospital is located at One Children's Place, St. Louis, MO 63110. This is a part-time position, 24 hours per week, with three shifts per week on weekdays from 8 am to 6 pm. The schedule includes evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Benefits are eligible.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on managing illnesses or injuries, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Requirements

• Same Day Surgery/PACU nursing experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of pediatric nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree in Nursing.
• No experience required.
• No supervisor experience required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) certification preferred.

Skills

Knowledge of pediatric nursing practices, critical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
