CLINICAL MANAGER RN

About the Role
The Clinical Manager is accountable for the delivery of high-quality nursing care and for the administrative management of a regionally located network of CMG clinics (all specialties) and the associated clinical staff for all assigned locations (minimum of 8 clinics). This role plans, directs, coordinates, and controls the work of professional and para-nursing personnel, ensuring daily operations and oversight for clinical services in all assigned clinics. The Clinical Manager reports to the Clinical Services department Leadership Team and collaborates on all clinical service directives.
Responsibilities
- Selects, trains, orients, develops, and evaluates performance of clinical staff.
- Ensures staffing mix and allocation in accordance with departmental guidelines across all practice locations.
- Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement initiatives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory standards, federal and state guidelines, and nursing standards and practices.
- Works with on-site clinical supervisor(s) to maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Develops departmental budgets in conjunction with the Practice Leader and administers operations within budgeted parameters.
- Maintains operational reports, records, and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
- Coordinates and reports outcomes of clinical activities performed on behalf of the patient.
- Attends meetings and actively participates on nursing and interdisciplinary committees, as appropriate.
- Establishes and maintains communication between clinical staff, medical staff, and ancillary departments for problem-solving and quality improvement.
- Ensures establishment and implementation of Practice-wide goals and objectives aligned with facility and system goals.
- Promotes a safe environment for high-quality patient care using evidence-based practices.
- Protects patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communications.
- Supervises, institutes, and evaluates clinical interventions and documentation.
- Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills, including age-specific care for the population served.
- Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure timely, efficient, and effective patient care.
- Facilitates professional development and retention of staff.
- Manages local travel between assigned clinics based on clinic needs.
- Determines and monitors key performance indicators to achieve a successful team, providing consistent feedback to the Office Manager and team members.
- Establishes and evaluates core competencies for all clinical team members.
- Identifies learning needs of clinical team members and works toward meeting those needs.
- Approves payroll preparation and monitors sick time, overtime, and paid time off in conjunction with the local Clinical Supervisor.
- Monitors customer satisfaction results alongside Practice Administrators and Office Managers.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates the departmental quality assurance plan with the Director of Operations and Director of Clinical Services.
- Works closely with the VP of Operations and VP of Clinical Services to develop, review, and revise policies and procedures for compliance with Safety, CLIA, OSHA, Infection Control, and other regulatory agencies.
- Completes required education assignments annually and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of recent clinical experience required.
- Two (2) years of recent leadership/managerial experience preferred.
- Certification or experience in area of practice specialty/focus preferred.
- Must have and maintain a Tennessee state registered nurse license.
- Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license (Class D) and state-mandated minimum insurance coverage.
- Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at hire and throughout employment.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: Sufficient to meet standards for licensure/certification as required by the issuing authority.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field preferred.
Schedule
Full time, 80 hours per pay period, varied shifts.
