About the Role

The Clinical Manager is accountable for the delivery of high-quality nursing care and for the administrative management of a regionally located network of CMG clinics (all specialties) and the associated clinical staff for all assigned locations, including no less than 8 clinics. This role plans, directs, coordinates, and controls the work of professional and para-nursing personnel in assigned clinic(s), ensuring daily operations and oversight for clinical services. The Clinical Manager reports to the Clinical Services department Leadership Team and collaborates on all clinical service directives.

Responsibilities

  • Selects, trains, orients, develops, and evaluates performance of clinical staff.
  • Ensures staffing mix and allocation in all practice locations in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement initiatives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory standards, federal and state guidelines, and nursing standards and practices.
  • Works with on-site clinical supervisor(s) to maintain compliance of all regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Develops departmental budgets in conjunction with the Practice Leader and administers operations in accordance with budgeted parameters.
  • Maintains operational reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Coordinates and reports outcomes of clinical activities performed on behalf of the patient.
  • Attends meetings and actively participates on nursing committees and interdisciplinary committees, as appropriate.
  • Establishes and maintains communication between clinical staff, medical staff, and ancillary departments for problem-solving and quality improvement.
  • Ensures establishment and implementation of Practice-wide goals and objectives aligned with the facility and system.
  • Promotes a safe environment for high-quality patient care using evidence-based practices and protects patient confidentiality.
  • Supervises, institutes, and evaluates clinical interventions and documentation.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills, including appropriate delivery of care according to age-specific needs.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure timely, efficient, and effective patient care.
  • Facilitates professional development of staff with accountability for staff retention.
  • Manages local travel between assigned clinics based on clinic needs.
  • Determines appropriate indicators for a successful team and monitors performance relating to goals, objectives, and benchmarks.
  • Establishes and evaluates core competencies for all clinical team members and identifies learning needs.
  • Approves payroll preparation and monitors sick time, overtime, and paid time off in conjunction with the local Clinical Supervisor.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction results alongside Practice Administrators and Office Managers.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates the departmental quality assurance plan with the Director of Operations and Director of Clinical Services.
  • Works closely with the VP of Operations and VP of Clinical Services to develop, review, and revise policies and procedures for compliance with Safety, CLIA, OSHA, Infection Control, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards, completing required education assignments annually.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of recent clinical experience required.
  • Two (2) years of recent leadership/managerial experience preferred.
  • Certification or experience in area of practice specialty/focus preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a Tennessee state registered nurse license.
  • Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license (Class D) and state-mandated minimum insurance coverage.
  • Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.

Qualifications

None specified; however, must meet standards for achievement of the required license and/or certification. Possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field preferred.

Schedule

Full time, 80 hours per pay period, varied shifts.
