About the role

Responsibilities

A Registered Professional Nurse who is responsible for the management and quality of nursing care. The Clinical Manager Emergency Services will ensure throughput and patient flow are maintained. The role will require clinical participation in providing emergency care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: AAS Degree in Nursing required. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, and a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related area is preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: Three years’ experience as a Registered Professional Nurse in an Emergency Department is required, with five years’ experience preferred.
  • Required Certification/Registration: Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse.
  • Required courses and certifications:
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 classes
    • Hospital-sponsored Crisis Training Program
    • New Leadership program offered by the health system
  • Preferred certifications:
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) presented by the Emergency Nurses Association
    • Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC) presented by the Emergency Nurses Association
    • CCRN issued by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses
    • CEN issued by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Position will primarily be medium to light work requiring lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required. Position requires 20% sitting and 80% standing or walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken and written word is required.

Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. Position may have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.

Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings and/or weekends.

Pay

The range for the role is $86,239 - $107,803 annually. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
