Clinical Lead, Registered Nurse (Wabash)

Principal Responsibilities

• Provide leadership within the department and act as a resource for nursing staff on a continual basis.
• Cook with the Operations Manager and Operations Lead to ensure leadership coverage in the department.
• Serve as department preceptor and collaborate with other department preceptors.
• Collaborate with providers, staff, ancillaries and supporting departments to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve work flow and process development.
• Handle patient complaints as necessary.
• Implement the onboarding of new hires and ongoing training, education and competency of existing nursing staff in collaboration with Clinical Operations.
• Create/maintain the employee schedule and coordinate coverage to ensure all shifts are staffed.
• In collaboration with the Operations Manager, monitor and report on employee performance/productivity.
• Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to investigate and report quality concerns related to OSHA, HIPAA, etc.
• Document encounters appropriately.
• In collaboration with Clinical Operations assist the Operations Manager with selecting qualified candidates to join the department.
• Aid the Operations Manager with development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to the nursing staff.
• Prepare and present nursing staff meeting agenda and/or communication under the direction of the Operations Manager.
• May gather statistical data, prepare reports, and present to managers and staff as needed.
• Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
• Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
• Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• Previous nursing experience in an applicable clinical setting required.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly desired.
• If required to precept, successful completion of the Preceptor Program is required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.

• Ability to communicate diplomatically and deal tactfully and effectively with all levels of Springfield Clinic employees, physicians, and the public.
• Ability to remain calm and perform with accuracy under pressure/during emergent situations.
