Clinical Laboratory Technologist Trainee - Chemistry

About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team in Raritan, NJ. New graduates are welcome—full training will be provided. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about helping people and driven by service.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• In lieu of the above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may be accepted
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Schedule

Monday - Friday 3:30 pm - 12:00 am, with rotating Saturdays 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm.

Pay

$25.19 - $39.09 per hour + 10% shift differential. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data.
