Role Overview: A Clinical Laboratory Technologist Trainee in the Histology department is responsible for processing tissue specimens, operating laboratory equipment, and conducting quality control under pathologist supervision. Key Responsibilities Perform technical grossing and specimen processing following standard proceduresOperate and maintain automated tissue processors, embedding units, stainers, and cryostatsPrepare tissue recuts, organize slides, and compile cases for pathology reviewConduct quality control on cases and manage specimen storage and retrievalHandle hazardous chemicals and ensure laboratory safety compliance Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical TechnologyAbility to pass standardized color vision screeningProficiency with computers and laboratory information systems preferredStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and flexibility for overtime or shift workAbility to work independently and as part of a team
