Clinical Laboratory Assistant

About the role

The Clinical Lab Assistant at Sentara Leigh Hospital will be responsible for interacting with various healthcare providers and facilities to ensure accurate specimen entry into the laboratory. This position requires frequent communication and interaction with hospitals, nursing facilities, and physician offices.

Responsibilities

• Labels, processes, and distributes specimens based on testing ordered and required.
• Maintains supply levels in the specimen processing area.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Resolves internal and external customer inquiries related to laboratory operations.
• Frequent interaction with hospitals, nursing facilities, and physician office staff.

Requirements

• High School Grad or Equivalent (required).
• 1 year healthcare experience (preferred).

Qualifications

• No specific certification or licensure requirements.
