About the Role

Performs a wide variety of laboratory tests by manual methods or use of various automated, mechanical or electronic devices. Performs the full range of duties from specimen procurement through data analysis and reporting, in order to provide data for use in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease in all areas of the lab. Is accountable for accurate results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of laboratory tests using manual methods or automated devices.
  • Conduct specimen procurement, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Provide accurate data for detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease across all lab areas.
  • Demonstrate accountability for accurate test results.
  • Work variable shifts and overtime as required.
  • Testify in court regarding testing activities if subpoenaed.

Requirements

  • Possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Qualifications

  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CA).
