About the Role

Performs a wide variety of laboratory tests by manual methods or use of various automated, mechanical, or electronic devices. Performs the full range of duties from specimen procurement through data analysis and reporting to provide data for use in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in all areas of the lab. Is accountable for accurate results.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests using manual methods or automated devices
• Procure specimens and analyze data for reporting
• Ensure accuracy of test results
• Work variable shifts and overtime as required
• Testify in court regarding testing activities if subpoenaed

Requirements

• Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Current CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
