About the role

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist I is a Licensed Medical Technologist whose primary responsibility is to perform laboratory testing on patient samples. In this capacity, the CLS performs the preanalytical, analytical testing phases, and post-analytical processes, and is responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance, and all reporting and documentation.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum $45.72, Midpoint $60.58, Maximum $75.43. Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.
  • Clinical Lab Scientist-CA (CLS) license; Limited Licensed CLS may be accepted in lieu of a General CLS. Either must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with computers and software programs necessary for the position.
  • Able to read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality.
  • Able to operate and troubleshoot basic laboratory equipment.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience

  • None required. New graduates are eligible for the Clinical Laboratory Scientist Training Program.
  • Preferred: Previous healthcare experience.
