Clinical Lab Associate 2, Lab Service Center - Full-Time, Day Shift
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, as a Clinical Lab Associate 2 (Phlebotomist) in the Lab Service Center department. Here, you will perform phlebotomy tasks, provide order entry, central processing, EKGs, laboratory testing, and assist with DOTs and BATs as needed. This position is 100% onsite and requires you to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy, blood specimen collection, and venipuncture.
- Obtain EKGs and assist with DOTs and BATs as needed.
- Provide order entry and central processing of specimens.
- Perform laboratory testing for which training and competency have been demonstrated.
- Interact with patients, physicians, and families to ensure exceptional customer service, including greeting patients, responding to telephone inquiries, and distributing test results.
- Process human specimens for delivery to specific laboratory departments.
- Utilize HIS and LIS systems and progress to functional capabilities with hospital billing systems.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge to provide care according to unit-specific competencies.
- Adapt to varying degrees of unpredictability in daily work schedules and assignments.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy course or program.
- AHA CPR Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification by ASCP, AMT, NCCLS, NPA, ASCLS, NCA, or NHA.
- Inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy experience.
Schedule
- Full-Time (1.0 FTE), approximately 40 hours per week.
- Day shift with varying start times between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
- No on-call shifts.
- 100% onsite at the Ingalls campus in Harvey, IL.
- Schedule varies by week, including every other weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday).
